Viva Mexico!
It’s no secret I am a big fan of eating out, especially since I’m a proud fan of supporting local businesses in Auckland, and around New Zealand. I’ve been a long time lover of Mexico restaurants up and down the country and I share with you my favourite things to order, and what to expect next time you head to Mexico in Silverdale, Auckland New Zealand.

Mexico | The Restaurant
A beautiful spot in Silverdale, Auckland. Mexico has a number of branches in Auckland including Ponsonby, North Shore and Mount Wellington.
Mexico | The Atmosphere
Full of colour and beautifully decorated, I love how homely and comfortable the space is. There is an outdoor area as well as inside seating so you can always find the perfect spot to sit.
Mexico | The Menu
The menu at Mexico changes seasonally, which is always an exciting change. Just when you thought you had found the perfect taco, another variety will replace it with something even more delicious! I have tried many of the items on the Mexico menu, and often old favourites will make a come back. Great options to look out for include the Pork Belly taco, it’s free range pork too! As well as the prawn taco, and the Taco Dorado, which is basically a super crispy deep fried taco. Delish!
Mexico | My Favourites
There are so many things I love about Mexico, but my all time favourites are the fried chicken of course, which always comes with two delicious sauces, one is slightly spicy and the other is not. I adore the Gorditas which pop up every so often, along with the Croquetas and accompanying remoulade. The chickpea Patatas are pictured below, and are all sorts of delicious. Mexico also offers a cold brew coffee, which is presented as pictured so you can customise it exactly the way you like it! Milk, sugar syrup and the coffee are brought in separate adorable little vessles for your enjoyment. I often order this especially if I am having lunch, it;s a fantastic pick me up and the depth of falvour with the cold brew is imrpessive.
Mexico | Dessert
If you’re not sure what to choose for dessert, the churros are the perfect sweet treat. Each season they are accompanied by a different and delicious dipping suace, whether chocolate, caramel or general sweet goodness it’s always a good time. You absolutely cannot go wrong with the churos, but make sure to elave room!

For all things Mexico, including New Zealand wide locations, the full menu each season, takeaway options and anything else you’d like to know just head to their website! My favourite spot is the Silverdale location, located near the northern motorway, getting the full warm evening sun for dinner with indoor and outdoor seating available. It’s a cosy little spot, with easy free parking right out front but make sure to book ahead especially for the weekend days!
