In between seasons can always be tricky, finding that outfit which is not too hot or cold and you can layer up if you like. This maxi-dress from Kmart is my solution, and not just because it has beautiful polka dots which are my favourite...

I love autumn, apart from the fickle weather for shooting it's a beautiful season of colour and there's so many good spots. Of course along with a coloured backdrop is the perfect opportunity for a minimal black and white look. This polka-dot dress from Kmart was a bit of love at first sight for me, I have always been drawn to this print and the v-neck maxi style works well for hourglass figures and flatters a larger bust.

It has a wrap around tie at the waist which finishes in a bow, and finishes around the mid calves. It has sleeves which is a big plus for me! The fabric is also nice too, not too heavy or light. The gathers from the waist can be a bit bunchy, so it really needs minimal accessories and in terms of layering, a white cardigan would work well, to keep the front visible.

In terms of accessories I wore my Pusheen collection that I have started acquring recently! You can order them online at Pusheen.com and I bought the ring set, and necklace. I'm also wearing heart earrings from Lovisa.

In terms of shoes this dress really needs more height, so these lace-up heel boots from Kmart were a great match. I added white lace socks with them for that cute factor, these were from Rubi shoes. Farmers also has a great sock selection if you're wanting more variety too!

Hair bows are still a favourite detail of mine, even though at the moment they're not super popular. I feel like classy hair bows are a nicer touch for day wear.

The Pusheen rings come in a collection set of four, one silver, rose, gold and a dark silver. My favourite is the silver one! The brooch is from Erstwilder, a gift from my lovely blogger friend Miss Hero Holliday. It's a little black and white fox, and it's super cute!
