Highlights of 2021 | The Wardrobe Blog
What feels like the end, is often only the beginning…
It’s another year to wrap up here on The Wardrobe, and my goodness was it a busy one! There were so many things we did in 2021, and so many things still to be done. It was a rollercoaster ride, and despite so much uncertainty in the world there is so much to look forward to! I started a group of new projects, with new platforms and new possibilities, so here I share with you all that was the year of 2021…

Highlights of 2021 | Achievements & Successes
The past year has been one of the most mixed bags in a long time of creating here on The Wardrobe! I achieved a number of goals, both personal and business, made so much headway in the creation of my signature label Katie Marvel, work still going on behind the scenes with The Wardrobe Shop, and a number of new projects too. It’s also been a year of unexpected changes, and a number of my goals are teaching me new patience, with so many expectations I have had being pushed back into next year. The global effects on New Zealand have been delayed compared to the rest of the world, and this has meant a handful of setbacks. However, with those setbacks come valuable and potentially life changing lessons, all of which I share with you today! In the face of uncertainty I learned the importance of consistency, and with that came success! Highlights included my article with advice for growing on Instagram, collaborations with some of the most exciting cosmetics brands to enter the New Zealand beauty scene, a return to my roots with reflection posts on my early work in the fashion industry, and of course my most recent pride and joy with local New Zealand creative community, New Zealand creators!

There was still plenty of time to reflect and dream this year, and with that came plenty of promotion for my upcoming label Katie Marvel and The Wardrobe Shop over on Instagram! I really enjoyed getting creative with a variety of teaser images for my biggest projects to date, and all about how I made them happen.
Highlights of 2021 | Collaborations & Features
One my biggest and proudest accomplishments this past year was getting the creative community of New Zealand Creators established! I am passionate about promoting the plethora of incredible local talent our beautiful country has to offer, and what better way to do it than by doing it yourself! Highlights of 2021 | The Launch of Instagram Guides
Instagram Guides are one of the best new features to come from Instagram in the past few years. Despite the huge success with reels on the platform, I love guides for their easy to read, easy to create features enabling you to learn so much about a topic in such a short space of time! I have covered a few different topics on Instagram with guides, including some of my favourite featured artists which you can check out below.
Highlights of 2021 | NZFW goes online
New Zealand Fashion Week has been missed for two years now, so to celebrate the ongoing work of our most notable designers I featured a selection of my favourite makeup looks from the past runway shows over the years, including this soft and youthful look inspired by Maggie Marilyn’s last show in the Glasshouse, Ponsonby in 2019.

Here are a few of my favourite before and after transformations for the year of 2021 below. Which is your favourite? ♥︎
