Senorita
Red is one of my favourite colours, and a deep cool red is my favourite shade. This week's outfit is slightly inspired by the idea of a Spanish 'Senorita', but mainly because of my new red hair flower!
With a little glitter in my accessories this look is well suited to a special occasion. I also found the best place to shoot this, and my love affair with interesting walls around Auckland continues...
This top from Glassons is a comfy but elegant look, you could easily dress it a little more casually with a pair of white jeans for a different feel. I got quite excited when I realised the skirt and top matched, it's a real statement look. The lace is an overlay with another layer of material underneath, and the peplum section of the top is made from a beautifully soft fine stretch tulle.
My Red Mistletoe Hairflower is up on my Etsy store and is also a great accessory for Christmas! I added a little silver butterfly at the bottom front, and it is secured with a little movement in the fastening, so it glistens as you move. There's also a few glitter beads within it, and a variety of some of my favourite flowers. It's an alligator clip too, so it's easy to pull your hair back and secure. This flower piece is one of my favourites as it's small enough to be petite yet still eye catching.
The shape of this outfit is well suited to an hourglass figure, pencil skirts are a real go-to in matching with an assortment of blouses for me. I often struggle with getting pants to fit me correctly, and constantly end up rearranging how they sit. This skirt from Sussan has a little stretch in it so allows you to move easily, and it washes really well too. Most pieces from Sussan actually are made from beautiful fabrics like bamboo, and have very good longevity lasting for a number of seasons!
The shoes I am wearing are thrifted but were originally sold at Hannahs. Although there are similar ones available in different colours at Novo Shoes currently. They are covered in red glitter over the entire shoe, and although I wouldn't like to stand around for long periods in them, they are very pretty for anyone who loves sparkle!
Bangles and Earrings are from Lovisa, and the earrings are little red rosettes, which match my hair piece so well. I have an addiction to all sorts of cute tiny earrings, and my collection is always increasing. I will do a storage post soon, but many hardware stores sell the best types of plastic containers and dividers for separating and keeping your accessories according to colour and style.
The wall pictured behind me is found in Parnell, Auckland. I love the cute little window on the side and the tiny leaf climbing ivy! There are quite a few cute little spots around, and now getting back into summer everything is beautiful and green again.
I love seeing how all the accessories from an outfit come together. Usually I start with a statement piece which this time was my hair flower, and then match them from there. I had these shoes I had been saving, so the bangles and earrings were a great set. I try not to include too many colours as I've mentioned before. There's a great quote from Channel that sums up my attitude to dressing, and it pays to keep in mind when you pop together your next outfit. For me, this would have been a necklace or stockings. Less is more.
