Icecream

I scream, you scream we all scream for ICE CREAM!

There is not much sweeter than the perfect outfit where everything works together seamlessly. Finding accessories, and shoes to match the shade of a top or dress can be a desperate mission especially when pressed for time. Fortunately, the lovely ladies and gentlemen of Kmart have us all covered.

The only thing sweeter than the perfect outfit is the perfect price, and everything here apart from this bow headband is from Kmart New Zealand. A sweet deal indeed.

Ice cream came about more because of late I have been dreaming of looks that are preppy and cute, simple outfits that are easy on the eye. This look is everything I hoped for. It started with this pale pink blouse, part of the upcoming spring range. NZ designers like PIA boutique have been creating variations on this look for a few years now, and it’s finally coming into the mainstream fashion which is fantastic to see. Embrace this trend while it lasts.

I’ve been inspired lately by fun and playful makeup, so this time I created a bouncy curl using my new GHD creative curler, which is incredibly easy to use. I am by no means a hair expert so this tool has been a blessing to easily create beautiful locks. Then I used some of my lip colour and blended it with my eye shadow to create dimensional candy pink tones. The beads add texture. I love the texture of hundreds and thousands and I wanted this look to be just a little bit sweeter...

The material of this blouse is a light chiffon fabric, and the fit is tailored around the shoulders but loose everywhere else so is very comfy. I paired this blouse with black 'super skinny' capris also from Kmart, which also come in various shades of denim. The capris are the best length, and have a small amount of stretch to them. I have worn jeans from various stores and brands, and these capri pants are everything you could want. I cannot wait to blend these into so many new outfits. Because I have a curvy figure, I often struggle to find pants or jeans that fit me well and are work for my slim legs. These pants are the exception! Another reason to love Kmart.

These flats are also from Kmart, as is the choker which was only $2. These bangles match perfectly, and are in fact made of rubber and so are not cold on your skin or slip off as I have this problem often because of my slimmer wrists.

Kmart is getting tons of rave reviews from fashion critics and the general population at the moment, with the incredible amount of variety and well thought out products available. It is well worth pointing out a recent survey on popular fashion brands. Baptist World Aid looked into the ethical production of fashion companies in New Zealand, and Kmart notably received a very respectable B grade. So now you may shop free of guilt until midnight...
