Starry Eyed
Every now and then I like to get my hipster vibe on, with muted tones and a more minimal look. Sometimes simpler can definitely be better. This week I went for various shades of grey, and a little bit of cute sparkle from Colette by Colette Hayman. You can read more below about my little romp around Parnell.
I saw this cute dress which also looks like a playsuit - at Portmans. It doesn't have any crazy frills but that makes it super easy to style. It has a waist tie and open back, which I really like. Making it super breathable and flowing, awesome for summer days without showing too much skin. The dress has bell sleeves and a v-neck style front.
I added a little bit - well actually, a lot - of cute sparkle to this outfit. All the accessories are from Colette by Colette Hayman. I think these earrings which are so crazy overboard go perfectly with such a minimal look. The choker is actually inspired from the Swarovski Slake range, with few rows of different diamantes worn together. I also am very much adoring the cute selection of pom pom hair ties from Colette, in this look I am wearing ones in white. So kawaii!
These adorable little pieces match so well together, and as a cat lover anything with cats on it usually has me set. These Keds by Taylor Swift are more of a narrow fitting sneaker too, which is great for my feet. They come with grey laces as well, in case you want a bit of a change! The sunglasses cat matches perfectly, and Colette has a whole range of different coloured fluffy key rings. Chuck one on your keys, your handbag, or anything you want to decorate!
I added my thigh high socks from Rubi Shoes to this look, as when one can - I think it's fantastic to wear thigh high socks. They are just the best addition to cute dresses and skirts. I don't care for dressing to a certain aesthetic, I just dress how I like. A lot of my inspiration comes from my childhood, and all things girly. Black or coloured thigh highs are usually the best, and take an outfit from average to a little bit quirky.
I originally planned to have my hair in moon buns - yes, it's a thing. Hashtag #moonbuns however, I also really like my half-bun look, and with my pom-pom hair ties it makes the look a little bit different. I like to pay tribute to the trends, whilst still including aspects of my signature style - notably all things cute and girly. That's what keeps things interesting, and what makes styling such fun. That way even while things change, they also stay the same - your look is yours and yours alone. So equip yourself with a bit of style knowledge, and create your own aesthetic!
