Last Days of Summer

"Summertime... and the living is easy..."

It's my favourite time of the year, second to the coming cosy winter days, where snuggling up on the couch is the best thing to do. The last days of summer bring long warm evenings and relaxing hot days, and this cute little number from Jay Jays is oh, so much pretty.

It was love at first sight with this top, it's an off the shoulder crop blouse, which has a faux tie up front and slightly puffy sleeves. Tops like this one, in a variety of styles with wrap bodices and varying lengths are the best thing about warm weather. It features a pink and white gingham print, which is oh so cute! I love it with these semi high-waisted shorts which are also from Jay Jays. The shorts come in both a dark denim shade and this black, and have pockets at the back and front. Cute and practical!

The choker in black is the perfect accent for this look, and it's from Pagani. You can tie it however you like, or wear it as a wrist wrap if you prefer. I like the length of it and how big the bow is when done up. Chokers are in to stay for a while it seems, and I personally love them for so many outfits! They are so versatile, and particularly good if you have narrow shoulders, or are somewhat petite, I often find that necklaces can be overdone on me. So I prefer to choose more delicate or minimal designs.

This look I experimented with my makeup again and played around with wet look eyes. I used a sparkly lipgloss over the top of a pale eyeshadow, and lashes to frame it. It's always interesting seeing how different looks appear on camera versus in life, and this is quite a natural look compared to some I've tried in the past. You could easily add glitter in the inner corners of your eyes for a more 'evening feel' though. There's nothing that says summer more than a set of helium balloons for added awesome. I picked mine up from Look Sharp, they come in a range of different sizes and colours.

Although I usually opt for curly hair, my natural hair is very straight and I felt it was time to go back to my roots for this look! (Note the awesome pun?) But alas, this is created with the help of my favourite extensions I bought from Superior Hair. These are similar to the ones I have which are A Grade, but I will also be adding an AAA grade to my collection too. You can check them out and head on down to get a set of your own clip in extensions, take a look on their website here. I highly recommend them and the sets I now have are flawless. So easy to take in and out and the colour match is superb with my hair. I really can't recommend them enough, considering I have very fine hair naturally and the luscious locks I can create now are what I have always wanted!
